I want to move from DEVON to BRIGHTON, I have a 1 Bed Council Flat
I want to move to Brighton to be near my son. This is a first floor, one bedroomed, end flat in a block of eight(four on four with a long balcony (flowers everywhere)on the edge of a lovely Devon village(10 miles from Exeter.. 10 miles from Tiverton and 3 miles from the M5 at Cullompton Junction 28)Accessed at one end by stairs, at the other by a long ramp. It is supported housing ie: a support worker knocks the door on Tuesdays and Fridays to see if you're ok and have a chat if you so wish, however there is no obligation to be in for these visits and this service is optional. There is also an emergency call system installed which will soon be changed to a phone system.
I have two very quiet neighbours one next door and one below. The gardens around the place are very well kept and full of flowers. Beyond the gardens there is a great view of the Devon countryside. There is a small village primary school nearby. It really is a lovely spot. Apart from the 8 flats the buildings in the rest of the street(a cul-de-sac)are bungalows for the over sixties. A very friendly area. Parking is on the street The rent is actually £67.05 per week and that is made up to £83.64 by the addition of the support system charge however the difference of £16.59 is paid by a charitable grant called 'Supporting People' I also rent a lock-up garage from the council 50 yds from my flat for £8.30 per week this is also optional.
For me a rural location just outside of Brighton/Hove might also be acceptable.. anything considered. Best wishes:)
