City flat london SE1 [ home swap only]
Hi,
We have a two bedroom 'Corporation of London' flat. It is in 'Markstone House', Lancaster Street, SE1 0RL. It is nicely decorated throughout. It is within the congestion zone, and on the south edge of the City of London. It is within the Southwark, SE1 area. It is in a nice, quite and small block. It is on the top third corner of the block.. It has a front and back balcony, both with lots of flowers. The front balcony has us and only one other on the landing. The back balcony is south facing, so gets lots of sun, it has patio doors, with room for a table and two chairs. It leads off of the front room, and has a nice view of the Millennium Eye. Especially at night when the Millennium Eye is lit up. You can faintly hear Big Ben if the wind direction is right. The back balcony looks down onto a private lawn. The flat is newly double glazed, and has gas central heating. It also has an intercom system, with a caretaker living on site. So if repairs are needed, work is carried out quickly. The flat has vinyl flooring throughout. It has a communeral Sky TV plug point in the front room. It has a separate bathroom (with a shower) and toilet. The flat also has a storage cupboard and a coat cupboard in the hallway. Also, one of the bedrooms has a built in cupboard. The flat has nice neighbours, and we have lived here for nine years and been very happy. The flat is in a very nice area, and is near to the city, The South Bank (, lovely walks along the river), the Tate Modern, the cut markets, the Young Vic theatre, the Old Vic theatre, the Imax Cinema and the South Bank University. There are all kinds of restaurants and takeaways situated nearby. It also has excellent transport links, and is near to Waterloo, Waterloo East, Blackfriars and the Elephant & Castle train stations. It is also near to Southwark & Borough Tube stations and loads of bus routes. Also, near to mayor bicycle hire stop. There are two shops on the doorstep, and also a good primary school on the doorstep, which is Friars Primary School. There are two good secondary schools nearby, which are London Nautical Boys school, & Notre Dame Girls School. Also, a small children’s park opposite. You can park on the front street with a permit, or you can pay for a car space bay, that are located at the back of the block. You can also apply for a free ‘pram shed‘, which are located at the back of the block. The flat is within the 'congestion charging zone'; so you get a 90% residents discount. The rent is £114.00 weekly. This includes the water & sewage rates, caretaking, cleaning & portering & gardening. The flat is in the Council Tax band B; which is £18.23 per week. With the right to buy.
The reason for wanting to move is because we have a small dog, and dogs are not allowed on the block. We would like some private outdoor space, either a garden or a balcony etc. Also we don't want to move to any high-rise blocks, or big estates. We need at least a two bedroom property. Also, would like to stay in the London Borough of Southwark. Please note, that our property is for a ‘home swap’ & not for rent. Also, if you look at our road on ‘Google map‘, it shows scaffolding and green netting on our block; please note, that this is no longer up, as it was for the new double glazed windows that have now been fitted.
If you are interested, please email or phone us. We can send photo’s upon request. No time wasters please.
