3-bed semi in a very rural village called Barroway Drove, nr Downham Market, with garden, space for 2 cars, overlooking extensive fields at the back.
Our house is 2 miles from Downham Market which has all the local amenities like Schools, Supermarkets, Train Station, College and Swimming pool etc. The house is an older-style 3 bedroomed semi-detached with a double drive and a fair sized back/side garden which overlooks farm fields. It is situated in a narrow cul-de-sac of about 20 houses in total. It's a nice, safe and friendly area.
We have oil fired central heating and a coal fire in the lounge, a kitchen/dining room and the bathroom and toilet downstairs, upstairs has a good size master bedroom with walk in wardrobe and 2 other adequate sized bedrooms. New exterior doors, new kitchen and rewiring recently carried out.
Approx room sizes - lounge 13'x12', kitchen/diner 16'x10', Master bedroom 13'x11' with a 4'x3' set back walk in wardrobe, 2nd bedroom 10'x9', 3rd bedroom 8'x8'. Please note these sizes when considering the house.
The village is just a few minutes from nearby road links to Wisbech, Kings Lynn, Ely, Cambridge, Peterborough, etc. Own transport is pretty essential really, due to the remoteness of the village. However, free school transport is available just from the bottom of the road, for kids of primary school age upwards. The North Norfolk coast is within easy travelling distance so a day out to Hunstanton, for instance, can happen any sunny day if you fancy it:-)
Looking for a 3-bed (or more) house in South Suffolk (Ipswich/Woodbridge/Felixstowe/etc) or North Essex (Harwich/Colchester/Clacton, etc) to be closer to family. Needs to be in an area with local facilities like shops and school due to us not having own transport. Good transport links are also essential for work.
