We’re looking to swap our 2-bedroom ground floor flat in Hollingdean, Brighton. It has its own private entrance with a small porch and just a couple of steps up to the door, so no big stairs to worry about if access is an issue.
The flat has:
- 2 good-sized bedrooms
- 1 bathroom
- Gas central heating
- Double glazed windows
- Good Wi-Fi (rarely any issues)
- Loads of storage – there’s a boiler/storage room in the kitchen, a storage room off the living room, and another in the porch. Plus each flat has its own outside shed just next to the property.
There’s no private garden, but there’s a really big communal garden area out the back. It’s lovely in the summer – all the kids play together and the neighbours are friendly. There’s also a shared veggie patch that people help look after.
We’re near loads of schools (primary, secondary, colleges and unis), and it’s walking distance to the train station. There’s a bus stop at the top of the road and on-street parking with no permits needed.
The living room gets a nice amount of natural light. Noise levels are average, and the overall feel of the area is calm and family-friendly. Pets are allowed, and we’ve got space for washing lines out the back.
We haven’t done any major refurbishments, but we’re in the middle of repainting the walls and doors to freshen things up a bit.
